Church Opportunities

Opportunities to Celebrate Worship

We gather to worship in our main sanctuary each Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., with a time for meditation and reflection during a musical prelude.  Our worship celebration is a blend of traditional liturgy from the Lutheran and United Church of Christ and contemporary forms of music and multimedia.

Opportunities for Christian Education

Our Adult Church School gathers in the rear of the sanctuary each Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. for a lecture teaching style interspersed with singing hymns. Once a month the class time is an opportunity to share in a hymn sing. Even though lecture style the time together is relaxing and a time for fellowship and refreshments.

Intergenerational Christian Education programs are offered during the year. We invite youth of all ages to participate in the special programs of education and service.

Vacation Bible School is an outreach ministry of Education held each year. We select a theme each year and invite the youth of the community and congregation to participate in fun learning activities that help us share the Word of God and the Love of Jesus Christ. Our sessions are usually held in the evening. VBS dates will be announced in the near future for this summer.

Weekly Bible / Book Study gathers in the school house Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. for informal discussion and sharing as we study scripture and various titles by Christian authors. The gathering closes with prayer at 8:30 p.m.
New Member Orientation Opportunities are offered many times through the year. Giving guests the chance to learn about our congregation and the traditions of the Lutheran and United Church of Christ denominations and local congregation. Those wishing to participate are invited to request a time with the Pastor.

Our Faith

The foundation for our faith comes to us from the sacred Word of God. Believing that God still has a lot more to say. Where God is all-loving and inclusive; Where the Church of Jesus Christ welcomes and accepts everyone as they are; Where your mind is nourished as much as your soul; Where Jesus the healer meets Jesus the revolutionary; and Where together we grow a just and peaceful world.

We profess our faith with the use of the ancient creeds, The Apostles’ Creed, The Nicene Creed, The Chalcedonian Creed, The Athanasian Creed.
Now I invite you to join me in this historic confession of the Christian faith, by saying, and praying, these words of The Apostles’ Creed the Ecumenical Version:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

Born of the Virgin Mary,

Suffered under Pontius Pilate,

Was crucified, died, and was buried;

He descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again;

He ascended into heaven,

Is seated at the right hand of the Father,

And will come again to judge the living and

The dead.

I believe In the Holy Spirit,

The holy catholic church,

The communion of saints,

The forgiveness of sins,

The resurrection of the body,

And the life everlasting. Amen.
